Neighbor has wind chimes. I love a nice wind chime; very soothing and calming and nice.
These?
My best written "sound":
CLUNK DUNKITYCLUNKDUNKWONKCLUNK.
It's as if someone hung a bunch of buckets as wind chimes with the "thunk" and the "dunk" and the "clunk" hollow sounds. One neighbor has threatened to cut them down during the night. I'm just hoping that a BIG storm makes them go away.
Meanwhile....THUNK CLUNK DUNK THUNK.........
Serenity Now.

I know this isn't funny to you but did you ever watch The Middle?

@SahmIam is I'll ask the obvious... have you spoken to the neighbor about the wind chimes and let him/her know they are bothering you?

There is no way I could put up with that, not even the "nice" dainty kind. If it were me, I would ask nicely for them to be removed, and then keep asking again and again until they were down. Not everyone likes wind chimes and I think it is rather rude to put them up within earshot of your neighbors.

I'm in a condo and I hate these things! The upstairs neighbor put them up one Summer, I called her Mrs. Kravitz from Bewitched, I told her to take those down! It was right above my bedroom window!
If if they like wind chimes so much, hang them INSIDE in from of a Dyson fan. Yeah, that'll work 😂😂😂

@Kachina624 and others who asked:
I won't say anything for one reason: the person who lives there and enjoys them won't be with us for much longer. So....there it is.
I wasn't sure who it was until recently. In the meantime, I went through the HOA docs and windchimes are allowed so, it is something that neighbors have to deal with. In any event, I'll just ignore them.

@Lipstickdiva No, but I just looked it up. I think I need to watch it, lol.

@SahmIam, I wonder how the owners can tolerate the noise. I would ask them to please take down at night 8 or 9 pm.

From your sound description, it's probably the wooden chimes. We have chimes on our front porch. The "tinkly" ones. My neighbor told me they bothered him when he watched tv. So I moved them to the other side of the porch and my neighbor told me that was fine. It's just a matter of being considerate. So I say ask your neighbor to move them and hope they are considerate.

I despise, loathe ALL chimes. They should be outlawed.
