I just bought one yesterday and am having it delivered on Monday. It's a Serta iCool Hybrid. Both coils and foam with cooling gel throughout. I amost fell asleep trying it out. I'm also getting an adjustable base with lights, usb ports, lumbar support, pillow support and massage in addition to the head and leg lift. Can't wait! Going to buy a new set of sheets this weekend and donating the old ones to the animal shelters nearby.

Sooty, I have had a Tempur-Pedic memory foam mattress for the last ten years, and it is as comfortable as the day I got it. It has an adjustable base, which I could not live without. I agree with buying a mattress from a company which has a good return policy, although honestly, I think 30 days is probably adequate, odds are high you'll know if the mattress is good for you after just the first night, but a month is a safe bet. Good luck, I hope you find a perfect "boat" to float you off to Dreamland, nothing is more important than a good night's sleep!

Tuft & Needle mattress arrived Wednesday. Two mornings in a row now waking up without tingling in my arms or soreness in my back. The support is fantastic, it’s a very firm mattress while at the same time being “soft” in that it doesn’t put pressure on any one area, but sort of feels like floating in a weird (but good) way.
Unboxing was a breeze too. You do need two people to carry the box (it’s awkward and heavy) to your bedroom. Then just open one end and pull out the plastic wrapped rolled mattress. It has two layers of plastic, you remove the thicker outer layer first, then place the still rolled mattress on your bed frame/box springs/whatever, and puncture the second thin layer of wrap. It instantly starts expanding, and you can peel off the remaining plastic easily. It was ready to sleep on in minutes, and there is ZERO chemical or plastic smell.
I’d say my only complaint is the sides. Because of the way the adaptive foam works, it’s meant to support you firmly while you lie flat across a good portion of the surface. If you just sit on the side of the bed, you sink into the mattress. It doesn’t hurt the mattress (it bounces back when you stand up), but it makes sitting on the side of your bed very awkward. Not a real issue for us though considering we have a nook in our bedroom with a couch, chair, and table where we watch TV, read and whatnot, so we aren’t usually sitting on or in bed.

Do you have recommendations for FIRM hotel type support.
I don't like to sink into the mattress.

Everyone needs or is looking for different things in a mattress. My advice would be to consider the following things.
First, think about what you might need as far as adjustable. Do you have health/age issues where an adjustable bed is something you should be at least looking at and considering? If you are in the second half of your first century especially, this might be something to consider.
Rule out types of beds you already had, and didn't like. Air filled, water filled, inner spring, memory foam. If it has been a long time, the industry had really changed and upgraded, but maybe you already know certain things you don't like, or maybe you need to be open to types of bedding you never considered before. Just so you cover all bases before making a decision, and then wishing you had considered something different.
Brand and price aren't always a given for quality. We discovered a store in our area called Denver Mattress Company. We got nice memory foam mattress and box for a much more reasonable price that the big names. We have gone back and got another for the spare room, and bought my son a set for his apartment when he moved out (was his Christmas gift that year). So don't be afraid to consider brands you may never have heard of, or brands other than the 'big guys'.
Best of luck, it's a daunting task, and you never really know until you use it long term, how it is going to work out for you.

I purchased the Northern Nights mattress when it was the TSV. Mattress is ok, but it weighsover 75 #s. I am 82, have arthritis in my fingersand have been a widow for a long time. I can barely tuck the fitted sheet under and directions say in the beginning it should be turned every 2 MONTHS!! I bought a full size, I wish I had sent it back before opening the box. Just getting it in the house was a huge chore. I needed my handyman to get it out of the box and on the bed.

I'm close to ur age and would NEVER buy a mattress on-line. Go to a local mattress store or several mattress stores - check their reviews on Yelp --- and visit a salesman (or manager) at the store to give u advice as to what u need and are looking for.Any problems, u can exchange it - as they'll pick it up FREE!!!! Mattress prices are always negotiable and delivery is usually FREE!!!

I appreciate all of the diverse mattress choices that QVC offers, and the presentations give me much more info than a salesperson in a store does. That said, after I watched a bunch of presentations, we went to a physical furniture store to lie down on mattress for 10 minutes, then we went home and ordered from QVC for my nephew.
