Plugged my old one in over the weekend, it no longer works.

I really don't want to spend more than $50. Will be using it mostly in my bedroom.

Anyone have one that they love? I want one without a filter. Easy to clean, decent size water tank.

I use an Air Innovations.  I run it at night during the winter and if I fill up both tanks, it lasts all week.

@Greeneyedlady21  I have maybe 5 (?)of those humidifier QVC sells about this time of year.

I've given to family and friends those humidifiers.

So...I think I'm qualified to tell you even if you use distilled water you will STILL have this white stuff (which is minerals) on your furniture, windows and places you never thought of.

I have tried every kind of water under the sun and I still get the white powder on things.

I must have the hardest water in the world (I've been told by even the water company) that's what the white stuff is.

I'm just telling you that so you can be on the look out for it.

Everyone I know (even using various humidifiers) say the same thing happens to them.  In other words it depends on how 'hard' your water is.

I mostly notice it on the windows (inside the pane),

Maybe you'll be lucky and not have the white stuff.

All that said, I still use the humidifiers.

I think I need to qualify all of the humidifiers.  I kept ordering them and my person who helps me kept putting them 'away' so that I thought I didn't have them.  Then I found some boxes with brand new humidifiers in them!

Re: @Re: Need A New Humidifier

I like the Air Innovations ultrasonic humidifiers sold here b/c they have a permanent antibacterial filter in them. I can also buy their additional hard water filters instead of using the permanent one and that will allow me to use regular tap water which would otherwise cause 'white dust' w/o the hard water filter in place.

I also use a Honeywell hot steam humidifier which is the kind that boils water in a small heated cup inside the device. There are no filters but the thing needs to be cleaned occasionally to remove the hard water scale on the heat plate. I just use vinegar and let that soak in the heat cup...comes out nice and clean.

Between those two units my house gets humidified plenty enough to make it very comfortable...at about 45%. I have a humidity gauge which measures the air inside my house so I know when to get out the humidifiers.

Plugged my old one in again, turned it on, and waited a while. It started working.

Mine is outside your price range, but they do make a smaller version for $40.

I'll throw it out there for other because it's the best.  I've had it for 2 winters.
