A few years ago I purchased from QVC a product from Fuller Brush that attached to the garden hose.  A person uses the provided sprayer on the garden hose and sprays the windows through the screens.  It was not perfect, but it did a very nice job that allowed me to clean the windows without getting out ladder, squeezing between bushes, etc.  The windows did shine and were lovely to look through.  I now have tilt in windows and can use mixture of vinegar, amonia, and dish soap that Heloise recommended years ago.  Sills do need cleaning first.  Happy spring!

Nothing beats those microfiber cloths for ALL cleaning jobs.  Great on car and house windows, glass-top tables, kitchen/bath counters, stainless steel appliances, etc.

I use a variety of cleaning fluids (Perfect Glass, Windex, SprayWay glass cleaner for glass jobs).......doesn't matter which........the cloths require very few swipes and wipes to get something cleaned, streak-free.

Plain water can work, too, and damp cloths are good for light furniture dusting, cleaning woodwork, shining up chrome fixtures.

I remember all the years when I'd go through a roll of paper towels just to clean some windows in my house and car.  What a waste of paper towels and effort!

Needless to say, we have a large supply of the cloths,  and we throw them away if they are used for something really awful, such as charcoal grill cleanups.  But usually  we wash, dry and use again and again.
