@Regal Bee, This is simply beautiful.  I enjoy your displays very much. 

I always start out with thoughts of layering things on my mantel, but it isn't possible due to the narrow depth.

This is from Pier 1 (online only). It's mango wood, so I'm sure that it could be painted to suit your taste in metals.
