MTH_ I need to get some grass now for these bunnies. I am thinking something natural looking like SHOPR's she had in her pics. I am almost thinking I might like my whitewash jar better, but I am glad both are coming to me so I can decide. I have to be honest, when everyone was first discussing the wire jars on here, I didn't really give them a thought. Then I saw SHOPR's pics and everyone saying what they wre doing with theirs, and I kind of had second thoughts!!

I like the natural grass too. The grass I have is kind of cheap looking. I wanted the grass at PB but by the time I made up my mind, they were sold out. My fault for waiting so I ended up with that cheapy stuff. At this point, I probably won't go crazy trying to find it anymore but will have to get something better for next year. After Easter, my lemons/limes are going in it for summer.

oh, they had nice grass??! I missed it! hopefully i can find something at a craft place.

I'm almost certain what I used is called Spanish moss. HTH!

Some of the moss that I have found has an awful smell. Has anyone found any that does not smell bad?

SHOPR - Thanks for letting me know.

Mallemo - I actually picked up some green spanish moss a few weeks ago when I thought I would be using it for something and yes it does have an odd smell to it... I think it has been treated so I don't know what they use on it... I think it said ""preserved spanish moss."" I am going to look for some kind of natural grass this weekend or something lighter like in SHOPR's pics... I am not really happy with the green stuff I got.....

Gals, the light green moss that looks like fluffy mounds that you see in online designs is called Reindeer Moss. (at least that is what is on the bag I have.) It looks something like the mounds of real moss that you see growing outside, only with more little fibrous holes in it. (if that makes sense)

I just realized something about the moss I used in my wire jar. I didn't buy it that color. Last year, when I bought it and originally glued it to an outdoor wreath, it was a light, sort-of bright green. It has faded so much that it is almost back to its original gray tone. Still a slight green tint, but not much! Also, peeking out from the very bottom of my jar is actually an old twine placemat, folded. Looks something like this one on ebay:

Just wanted to clarify what I used because it might be hard to duplicate. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

I have seen the natural color moss, though.

Yep, mine is specifically called "preserved spanish moss" on the package I got from the store.
