Hubby and I are meeting with a decorator tomorrow. We are planning a Master Bathroom renovation. The bathroom is small to midsized, and we don't want anything too complicated. We are going to take out a large Jacuzzi and put in a bathtub/shower. We will need a new vanity and mirror. The current vanity is a corner with a corner mirror. Since the bath/shower will take up less space then the Jacuzzi, we will put in a straight vanity. Will also put in a new toilet. I think our color scheme will be almond and white or neutrals. The floor will be a naturals swirl type ceramic or one of those new materials that are very strong. We will also need two short walls on each side of the shower, and some new lights. Please wish us well. I have heard good reports about the decorator. We gave her name last Saturday while she was training on a new program. She called us this morning, and seemed very nice.

Hope it goes well, but do expect a glitch or two along the way. They're almost unavoidable. I redid a bath at my old place and all went reasonably well, but it took longer than anticipated. There were a few issues that had to be resolved more than once, but when all was said and done, it was a success. Do consider an ADA height toilet. It might seem like a small thing, but even if you aren't in need of it, the added height is surprisingly nice.

The taller vanities are nice, too.

DH & I are going to be doing the same thing with our master bath - getting our ideas together where we will be on the same page when we talk with someone is interesting. I am wanting to go to Lowes as well - - they did a beautiful job with my brothers home & I hope to be able to work with them as well. DH has his ideas - - - - - hmmmm - - - but in the meantime, I search for pics - houzz, pinterest, etc - I am trying to see, hear & learn everything I can!

Good luck with your renovation. I will always use white fixtures from now on because it's difficult to mix fixtures of other colors from different manufacturers. Also, if you want a quick toilet seat replacement, it's much easier and cheaper to find white than any other color. No more bisque for me! I learned my lesson with this house.

They really are, and so worth it.

I agree. I remember years ago when my parents were building a house and I was allowed to pick out the fixtures for my bathroom. Everyone thought I was crazy for selecting white... Years later, everyone thought I was pretty darned smart! Colors come and go, but white is timeless and permits so much variety with accessories. Well, my mom still lives in that house and has told me now several times that she wishes she'd put white in all the bathrooms.

I did not know that Lowes did remodeling. I am about to do my bathroom. Just had a contractor here the other day and is going to e-mail me the estimate. I am getting several estimates. I am going to check out Lowes.
