Anybody ever buy a mattress online?  Costco, Overstock, Amazon, etc.  all offer this.  Sounds so tempting..this is for my son who is not as fussy as I!!

I purchased 2 from the other channel and couldnt be happier.

I live rural so the selection is awful. If I headed to the city, they often didnt deliver this far out or it was a fortune for delivery.

I looked for coil count and composition in the store. I purchased a Queen and then about a year later a King. I skipped the budget bargains and bought mid priced.

Happy with their delivery and setup.

And horrors! I dont shop Amazon at all and I live 2 hours from any Costco!!

Yes, I have - from the Tempur-pedic website and from QVC (Pedic Solutions).  Love them both. Never set foot in a mattress store.

Yes I actually just purchased 2 new ones from Overstock. They were the same gel infused support mattresses but one was a 10" twin and the other a 12" full.

My sons LOVE them and I saved a ton of money.

Yep!  I recently bought a cool gel-memory foam one from Walmart.com.

It had great reviews all over the 'Net and was available elsewhere, but at the time I needed to order it WM had the best price.

Costco is the best place to purchase online if you have to return something.  My former daughter-in-law had a problem with the bed frame getting moldy (plastic underneath) which affected the mattress.  They picked up for free with no questions asked.  It was a memory foam bed.  We just purchased our 2nd Tempur-pedic bed last year.  Expensive but worth it to us.

If you buy a mattress from a local B&M, the mattress you lay down on is not the one that gets delivered.

You order one online or you order one by mouth in person.  Delivery = same.

@bargainsgirl Yes!  Last year we purchased a mattress from Wayfair, replacing an expensive mattress we bought locally just a few years prior and hated from the beginning.  The mattress is called the Gramercy 14" Hybrid by Classic Brands.  Hybrid means a combination of innersprings and cool-gel memory foam.  I did a lot of research prior to ordering and still had a few worries and uncertainties about buying such an important item sight unseen, buying an unfamilar brand, and I wondered how something so low cost could be any good.  The reviews on Wayfair for the mattress impressed me and let me tell you, once we slept on the mattress I added my own 4 star rating and very positive review.  Our king mattress was just under $500 at the time and shipping was free.  Keep in mind that these compressed mattresses are heavy so it takes a couple of people to get it to the bedroom and set it up.  You can put the mattress on a traditional box spring (one you already have or purchase separately) or you can use a platform foundation with the mattress alone.  We bought a Zinius Smart Base from Amazon and love all the storage underneath.  We've been sleeping on our mattress for a year now and still love it.   BTW, the same mattress is also available on Amazon.

@JeanLouiseFinch:

My cool gel-memory foam mattress is also by Classic Brands, and it's on a PragmaBed platform foundation/frame.  Love the whole setup as well!
