MORE RALPH LAUREN-INSPIRED ROOMS...

The Ralph Lauren aesthetic is so timeless and fun.  There's an online site, 'athera', that has collated a bunch of Ralph Lauren influenced-rooms, which I love to peruse.

Let's see-- let's review the characteristic elements we find in Ralph's universe (ha) :   Americana, rich colors and neutrals, brass, burnished leather, antiques, plaids, wood paneling, symmetry, old Persian wool rugs, chandeliers and vintage sconces, chinoiserie, crystal, fresh flowers and plants...

This little study is so cozy, and for me, an antique American flag is the crowning touch.  The room just oozes atmosphere!

I think it would be a mistake to think the look can only accomodate dark colors.  Old school "coastal" and other airy looks are happily included--

Vintage rattan, traveling trunks, navy-and-white, seascapes and tropical plants,  love.

All the gilt and crystal lend glamour to a dining area--

And more glamour--

But plaid, leather, stripes, family photos on the mantel, and Old Glory spell down-to-earth warmth--

Subtle sophisticated combo of pillow colors.  Cool grays and charcoals can look great with warmer browns and tawny shades...

Oh, I forgot another important Lauren symbol--  horses, and all things equestrian!

And he evokes the Old West beautifully, with a kind of 'Teddy Roosevelt rough-rider' soulfulness--

The unexpected hits of green in pillows and plants bring vitality--

Or here, the deep red is enlivening, with the pretty lantern and waterscape...

I really enjoy the emphasis on old, time-tested wood of all kinds...

Another great characteristic is that comfort is as important as looks--

Such an inviting apartment perch--

Love the charming Americana red, CREAM and blue!

These classic, comfortable rooms, for me, have an endless appeal...

All too busy for me.  I was always told to have one focal point in a room.  I look at the rooms posted and they give me vertigo.

Oh, there are such great looks in there.

I love every photo that has a blue and white vase with it

Plus I love the SW decor rooms.

I have always really enjoyed Ralph Lauren furniture and decor but the prices have always been so outragous (to me) that I have to relegate it to powerball list purchases

LOVELY!!!! I love them all, and am especially fond of the framed flags. I have a framed flag that stands in the corner of our fireplace wall and I dearly love it. And one of my prize possessions was a gift from the artist....it is a hand carved American flag, each stripe, each star was hand carved and then put together to form a flying flag. . . such a work of art...I love them both.
