Re: MORE GLIMPSES OF FALL ...

[ Edited ]

I love Yvonne's Stone Gable Blog.  She has very sensible and affordable decor ideas, and has links to buy similiar things on Amazon.   I recall when she remodeled her kitchen the results were so wonderful, yet not over the top.

I can't do all pale decor, I have to have more colors and warmth for winters.  I change the seasonal decor colors to color schemes that appeal.

I often decorate seasonally around the beautiful colors in my collection of Le Jacquard Francais fine woven French table textiles.  Right now I'm going nuts over the Souveraine Gold pattern, which I have on table in the front room that serves as the focus of the decor scheme.

The golds, ochres, and browns of this beautiful textile are giving me a beautiful palate that is becoming more neutral-brown,  rather than brighter oranges or burgundy colors.   VPH's starry night pumpkins in the chocolate are really perfect with this.

It is beautiful and not and overboard of orange.  Love orange but mercy sometimes it is just too much in one setting.

@Marsha2003 ,  I meant to ask you, is your silver pattern "Francis I" by Reed and Barton?  I couldn't quite tell from the photo.  A friend of mine had that pattern, and it is so intricate and lovely.

Yes, @Oznell, it is Francis I.  My southerner mother started my set when I was a young adult.  My tastes would have led me to choose a simpler pattern, but over the years, I've come to appreciate the artistry of the ornate design and use it to honor her.

@SactoSue That's a lovely pattern.  I would love to see how you use it in your house.

So pretty I like them all.  I am so envious of people that can put a twig in a vase and it looks like a work of art.   Me??  I put a twig in a vase and it looks like a twig in a vase.Woman Frustrated

Oh, somehow I passed over responding to your post a little earlier,  @SactoSue , although meant to!  I am in need of caffeine.  What stunning fabrics from that company.  You must have so much fun with such beautiful textiles in your rooms.

The golds, ochers and browns would be divine with chocolate Valerie hurricanes-- love that subtle palette.

Agree, Stone Gable is a wonderful repository of decorating ideas.

Edited later to add-- See what I mean?  I said "hurricanes" instead of "pumpkins",  sigh.  Going now to try to jump start my day again..

Ha ha

I know.  I stay away from twig in a vase decor.   It ends up looking unfinished, like it is waiting for me to put flowers in it.

I've seen her use this gourd or giant pear before.  Which is it, a huge faux pear or gourd???    I love the look of mottled Bosc pears so I'd probably pretend it was a pear...   Looks so nice with her white pumpkins.

Question:  Does boxwood really turn colors in the fall?  Love these little balls of faux "rusty" boxwood and teeny tiny gourds.

Hmmm, don't know if it is a pear or a gourd, @Oznell , but I'll go with you and pretend it is a pear.  Meanwhile, those little striped gourds in the other photo remind me of cute baby boars and cute baby tapirs.

This is a baby wild boar : aww
