Not sure why you would be splashing water in the people's faces.  Those sinks have the faucets that give off very little water with a hose inside the faucet which does not splash or spray everywhere, only where it is directed.  

In all likelihood, like my children have, there is a breakfast room right behind that wall there with a table and chairs which the BR is connected to the great room.  They also have a dining room with table and chairs entirely separate from this and there is a formal living room across the way from that.

On my monitor, the cabinets look like they are Williamsburg Blue. If that is right, I have to say that it is one of my most favorite colors, and I used it for decades in my home decor. 

But as a kitchen cabinet color, it's a no go for me, for a couple of reasons. Too dark, I'm too likely to tire of it in the 30 years a kitchen should last, and I've recently moved away from most blues in my decor as I have tired of them, even though I still love them. Just needed a break/change for awhile I guess.
