Same here. I get lost while doing dishes and staring out the window watching the birds in our backyard ... I love a big sunny kitchen. Although I'll never have one, I can imagine.

I also have a septic and garbage disposal. Worse things than food bits go into the septic, which is why it has to be cleaned out every four years or so.

Is there a dishwasher? Maybe hidden by the island? I notice she said Joe washes the dishes. Other than that omission, I love her kitchen. I have a septic and no way would I chance a garbage disposal. I came so close to a back up it wasn't even funny. That was due to an inexperienced septic pump out guy replacing the filter in the wrong spot. I had weekend company coming and called the plumber just as an extra precaution, due to a funny gurgling sound. Thank God is all I can say, it would have gone all over the basement and ruined everything down there.

We have a septic, and a garbage disposal...we've lived in our home for 28 years, and only had to have the septic pumped once. There's only the 2 of us, maybe that makes a difference. DH put that stuff (Rid-X?) down the drain every month to help keep it clear. Evidently, it's working!

I assumed the cabinet to the right of the sink was the dishwasher. I guess that could be the drawer for the trash cans. Can't imagine not having a dishwasher in this day and age.
