I have no problem with mine being cloudy. I washed it with dish soap in warm water then rinsed it with white vinegar. It sparkles now. I just wish the tiny air bubbles weren't there though. I am keeping it. DH didn't notice the bubbles but I know they are there.

didn't have the cloudy problem with mine, but thanks for the tip Brititta. I am having a problem decorating mine however. None of my plans are working. Witch theme, fall theme, Dallas Cowboy theme - all my pieces are too large. Even my fall leaves are too wide. I knew I should had stopped at a Hobby Lobby when I was close by one.

I didn't have the cloudy problem either, but it's difficult to work with. Not much space and the top slides around on top of the mirror. It's very pretty though but just need something to set inside with some small leaves and lights. I bought one large one at HL that I'm looking forward to decorating, large bottom so more options. I hope you find just the right item to decorate yours with. Pumpkins, Gingerbread house, maybe. I hot glued small pumpkins together and made it so I can just lift it out when I want to.

I like your JS piece Shopr. I wish I had a JS mini witch, but I don't. For now I just stuck a fall candle in mine with some mini pumpkins. And I'm not using the mirror under the top. I have the mirror as a base and then have fall leaves inside the bowl with the candle sitting on top of the leaves - a few mini pumpkins and pinecones around it. Best I could do for now. Haven't tried a mini light string yet. I think I may like it better without using the mirror. With the top fitting into the bottom, gives it more stability. Good to have the option though.

lucymo, yellowrose, and others who, like me, are trying to find items that fit inside their cloches: I was playing around with some things from my kitchen today.

I had an idea to use this teacup, saucer, glass bottle (using as a vase) and Lantanas inside the cloche, with the old ironstone plate as the base. I liked the colors together and the simplicity of everything. I tried stacking saucer, cup, then vase, but it was way too tall. I tried placing the vase next to the cup, but it was too wide. I feel like Goldilocks while typing this. I gave up and decided I need to find a short bud vase. Here is the way I decided to leave it when I ran out of patience:

Just wanted to share an idea I had, even though it didn't work out. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Oops, Just realized this thread title is about Lisa's cloche. This is not Lisa R's cloche. It is from Michael's.

Funny, I just used the word simplicity in the other clothe thread. I think it's hard work to keep it simple. I haven't decided if I like the cloches flat or with some height.

I've also been thinking about whether or not I will like adding height. I figure it will depend on the overall look of whatever I use inside and the type of plate I use, etc.

Think it's great you are trying new things SHOPR. Really like what you have done; agree simplicity is best. I have a couple of empty ones just sitting, waiting for a bolt of creativity to strike.

Have been off my decorating path lately.

SHOPR, I love the colors of the Lantana and the plate pattern adds interest. I also have that Fire King cup and saucer that you show. I'm thinking of using the demitasse cup and saucer but the only ones that I have are from my set of china, which is white with platinum edge, maybe too formal for the look I want. I have a large cloche from HL that fits perfectly on an old cake pedestal that I already had so that will be my winter snowman one. I need to get my creative juices flowing and quit spinning my wheels, getting no where. If we keep going we'll eventually come up with something fantastic.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

lucymo, I just love the old Fire King cups and saucers. I think it's because their flowers are so bright but simple. I know they're not top quality and were given away in bags of flour, but I can't help but like them no matter their worth. Several years ago I bought a few from ebay. I have the coral/pink shown in my cloche pic, and I also have the orange and yellow pattern immediately below. It's all been disassembled now, but it was a fun yet frustrating experiment.

I can't wait to see or read about what you do with your winter snowman scene.

I love the Fire King too. My Mom had a lot of them but I only have three sets, I think. I don't use them they just stay in the top cabinet. I like that Tulip one and the blue one really well. I like their history, a gift for purchasing the company's product.
