I GOT MY FIRST BETHLEHEM LIGHTS PRODUCT LAST WEEK.

IT IS A BATTERY OP. POTTED PLANT OF MUMS.

SO CHEAP LOOKING AND I EXPECTED MORE FROM BETHLEHEM LIGHTS PRODUCTS.

HOW CAN QVC TALK UP PRODUCTS, MAKE YOU THINK THEY ARE THE BEST, AND THEN

YOU GET THEM AND THEY LOOK LIKE THEY CAME FROM THE DOLLAR STORE.

I AM ALMOST DONE WITH QVC.

Re: BETHLEHEM LIGHT PRODUCTS

Unless there's some long-term agreement between them, I really fail to see why QVC continues to push this brand so much. It's almost as though this IS their home decor option, along with a handful of things from Valerie Parr Hill, some of which are appealing, but most of which are redundant. The Q really needs to step up the variety in their home decor offerings. Fake, lit plants aren't everyone's cup of tea.

Re: BETHLEHEM LIGHT PRODUCTS

If I want a faux lit plant I'll go buy a nice one and add a string of tiny lights myself. BL plants are very sparse IMO for what they sell for.

Re: BETHLEHEM LIGHT PRODUCTS

I really like BL and I have never had a problem with anything I got from them. I have several of the wreaths for Christmas and after 4 years, they still look great and the lights work fine. VPH things I love also. But the lighted items with timers pretty much only last a season. But I keep buying!!

Re: BETHLEHEM LIGHT PRODUCTS

I agree. I bought a lighted flower pot as a gift for my neighbor. It was so cheap looking, I would never give it as a gift. It was returned. A few years back I bought battery operated hanging flower baskets (5). Loved them the first year, but after that they never lit again and they were quite expensive. Plus the leaves and flowers blew off if it was windy. Christmas outdoor battery lights had problems as well. The timer was crazy. Sometimes they came on, other times they started randomly blinking during the day. I will never trust Bethelem lights again.

I don't care how nice a faux plant studded with lights is, it's going to look cheap simply because it is what it is. The best BL item I bought was a hanging basket of red-orange hibiscus I got for $19.95, last spring from Zulily.

I agree. A real potted plant looks so much nicer than a fake plant studded unnaturally with lights.

Re: BETHLEHEM LIGHT PRODUCTS

While I can't speak for the faux plants, I only use Bethlehem battery lights to decorate my outside and have for the last 6 years. I am still using all of them and each year add several more to them. Never had any that quit working and the timers are the best. I get so many compliments and neighbors cannot believe how fast I put them up and how bright they are. No stringing lights together and running extension cords. I also have a Bethlehem lights Christmas tree.

A neighbor does have one of the lighted plants hanging on her porch and from a distance it looks great. Of course they are not going to look like a real plant up close and not lit.

Re: BETHLEHEM LIGHT PRODUCTS

I have two hanging BL petunia baskets, and I have had them at least 4 years, maybe more. I quit using the lights after the first year, because they hang on the front porch, and it seemed we never really saw or enjoyed the lights.

At the end of the season, I sit them on the sidewalk and hose the years dirt off them, let them dry good, and box them up till spring. They still look full and nice after all this time. You have to get really close to tell they aren't real, and many people were fooled until the actually came up on the porch.

I purchased them for "curb appeal" anyway. I wanted the baskets to look full and healthy from the road, as years of fussing with real ones didn't net that result.

Re: BETHLEHEM LIGHT PRODUCTS

In the past, when the other guy Goeff was representing BL (he is now with Winter Lane on HSN) they had quality products. I have used my lighted Christmas garland around my front door, and another garland on my patio for about 6 years now and it still works great, timer comes on has held up well. However, when I purchased one about a year ago, I returned it since it was not made as well and the battery box fell apart.....I think the quality has gone down hill with this line.......and then there was the Christmas Tree recall fiasco that they had a couple of years back too.....now QVC uses Santa's Best trees and BL only has the garlands, wreaths and assorted florals with lights.... many with bad reviews....
