I thought this was fun, for being so different. Designed by the very talented Thomas Callaway. The building is described as a new, Century City highrise by architect Robert Stern.
The fireplace and the warm, not-too-dark wood are giving me such a snug, cozy feeling in this living room.
Apparently, the homeowners are partial to vintage glass and paintings-- I love their taste. Callaway gave this condo a bit of an Art Deco, 1940's feeling to complement their collections...
The paintings, pottery and glass shine.
I love the floors. Dining room flows into kitchen.
It's funny-- it isn't my color palette, nor my style even, but I do find this handsome and cohesive. I want to be invited to dinner here, ha. Then I could go into the powder room and swoon over the marble sink surround....
Am thinking this is a little den? The paintings throughout are just fabulous.
Beautiful tropical birds in a cozy corner.
Even this tailored bedroom has a radiant little landscape over the bed.
Here's the streamlined exterior of the building.
Perry Mason fans, remember in the classic series, how they occasionally (too rarely) showed Perry's apartment? It was masculine, with a low-slung fireplace, and modernist influences, yet it was warm and comfortable.
Perry, of course, had some Asian antiques, which this doesn't. Yet, in their concept of vaguely 'midcentury sophistication', the two spaces remind me of each other....

Of all the homes I have seen posted on these forums, this is by far the closest to what I would choose. With a few tweeks, definitely could live here--if I could afford it, LOL!!!

Wood wall has a heavy feeling. To much going on all over. Not a relaxing living space.

I lived in a southern CA high rise for 20 years. Nineteenth floor, facing east, glorious views. Loved it! ![]()

I agree with @KaydeeD. This is closer to my style but I'd also want to make a few changes (mostly the artwork and the bathrooms)

I'm not a fan of this condo. Although it is well done, it is not anything I would go for.

With all those tchotchkes on the shelves, they can't be worried too much about the NEXT QUAKE...

I do like the artwork throughout and the kitchen with the dining table and chairs. I like the different decor on the shelves. It is a nice living space but it lacks warmth and appeal for me.

It is also closer to my taste. Not so white everything. The bathroom is a bit to be desired though.

Some very nice elements. Overall, though, this one's a MEH for me. It seems a bit generic. While done in good taste, not a great deal about it is aligned with my taste. I'd add that given the walls of glass, I'm not feeling the 'cozy' or 'snug' vibes.
