@Somertime  Thanks for the link... Enjoyable... Yes, it must have been the feature from the 70's... Someone had tossed out an old issue I retrieved it. Some of these rooms look familiar, though there was also a gorgeous living room done mostly in soft shades of green, I recall...

@stevieb   She redid her apartment over many times, constant change for her, the same with her Paris apartment.  Jackie's apartment in New York was "only" refreshed from time to time.  Once it was done, that was it.  David Koch purchased it after her passing and gutted it.

Oh, @Somertime,  Turville Grange was such a fairy tale place-- I think it's my favorite. I think that was the first country place that Lee and Radziwill had after leaving their elegant digs in London.  It used to be regularly gushed over in shelter mags. for its singular charm, even long after she left it.  Thanks for putting the link!

@Oznell I agree.  She, always, said she was sorry she sold it but I think she had to after the divorce from Radziwill.  She said her Paris apartment was her favorite in later years but that was sold as well before she died.  Apparently, her lavish lifestyle was causing money problems for her.  She had a summer home in Southampton, Long Island that she sold after her son passed.

What is interesting is that there are pieces from her English Country home that she used in the Paris apartment and then from the Paris apartment went into the New York apartment.  Interesting!  I, always, felt she was restless, looking for something.  I have no doubt it was not easy having a sister who was revered and a former First Lady. 

I remember reading when she passed away and her will was filed, her mother had set up a Trust in 1975/1976 for her and Jackie.  I know Radziwill in later years was not as wealthy as when he was married to Lee but she did receive a very healthy divorce settlement and they split the children which I found to be horrible.  Anthony stayed with his father and Tina with Lee.

@Somertime  Thanks for the additonal links... As for Lee, it seems to me, though I could be wrong, I read where Jackie didn't leave her anything, having doled out a fair amount to her during her lifetime... So yes, it appears LR was in 'cost cutting' mode for some time...

@Somertime,  I think your term "restless" for her, is such a good one.  And always searching.   Yeah, families fractured in that way have to be so painful....

Stunning, elegant and very appealing.  When I was in my teens I dreamed of living in Manhattan, preferably the Village area.  Whenever I see pictures of these beautiful apartments I am reminded of how much I still love the thought of doing that.  Ah, to dream!!!

Oh, me too @spiderw --  one part of me loves the idea of one of those vintage apartments in the Osborne, maybe,  or even an urban loft!   A whole new space to decorate, too.

I've always wanted a loft... Sigh... And had I one, I'd decorate against type. So many lofts are done in pure modern or industrial and while I'd incorporate a bit of both, my focus would be far more traditional... And, when you think about it, most successful loft conversions are actually done with older buildings and exposed brick, so the blending makes perfect sense to me...
