Not any kind of fair comparison in my opinion, because the "before" kitchen was staged to look like a summer rental flop house.

Loving, as I do, my midCentury Ranch, neither would work, but the "before" with some careful attention to detail and a ferocious clean-up, would be closer to the character I'd be looking for.

The decorative curved shelves were not too frequently done in sets, together in the same small space when that decorating scheme was new and fresh, and were often functional (Mixmaster) or decorative/functional (pitcher) or sometimes just decorative.

Although the "after" kitchen woudn't work in my house, I would admire it in someone else's.
