Re: Jaw Dropping Holiday Home Videos

All I kept thinking was how much time it would take to haul out all those decorations, but then I saw a photo on the side table of what looked like 4 healthy teenage sons.  I certainly hope mom was the brain and those boys were the brawn behind that whole operation!  I wish I had that help AND storage space!

Thank you for bumping this up because I would have missed it.  Don't know anything about the seasonal home site so I'll have to check it out.  Just loved that retro tree with the ornaments from shows like the Jetsons and Twilight Zone.

Re: Jaw Dropping Holiday Home Videos

I think somebody ought to start a discussion based on EASY planning and decorating for the holidays...

like decorations that can be used all year long, etc!

or how to prepare meals for company/and holiday dinners that can either be prepared ahead and frozen or minimized chaos for the days themselves.

Thanks for sharing....

The home was nicely done !!!

I particularly liked the vintage room.....and some of those classic ornaments and toys--really fun! Woman Very Happy

Re: Jaw Dropping Holiday Home Videos

My cousin lives in a very large home in NJ.  She decorates every square inch of every room with a theme and tree!

Dining Room: All Lenox ornaments decorate tree

Living Room: All beach theme inc. tree

Kitchen: all gingerbread theme inc tree

Office: tree with all police and fishing decor (hubby retired trooper and avid fisherman)

Family: Old 50s -60s decor, shiny Britt ornaments, country and various pieces from our family over the years (hand me downs from my side of family -- which my mom had 12 siblings sadly, everyone is gone except my 1 aunt) - inc tree

Foyer: Ornaments from the time her daughter was baby on tree and every year at Christmas Eve all bring a ornament or piece for her. Tree is big ( I think 10') all ribboned.

Stairs and Landing: wrapped in garland and ribbon big Santa sits on rocking chair (illuminated) it lines up perfectly o be seen from street thru her large window above her front door.

This home is beautiful with no holiday but once it's all done its spectacular. I can't even think of the front yard except she has a large sleigh which was my parents and its huge and she had it restored. (Kinda like a Norman Rockwell Christmas scene).

She starts the decorating November 1 and it takes her about 3 weeks. She loves Christmas and does everything by herself (except unpacking trees) and big wreaths.

Its a labor of love because you can know every year it's nicer and nicer.  She always leaves it up to the Ephiphany.

I used to to decorate that way now I'm downsized and just do a little and head north to enjoy others!

Nice video. Not my taste but well done. Where does she store all the items from her furniture and on her shelves when it isn't Christmas? Seems like a lot of work but if she has the time and stuff to put out then more power to her.

very nice, I love to look at other's decorations to get ideas for myself..She has some great ideas, I do not have a home that big, but for her if you have the time and money-it's great. Very Festive!!!!!!

Re: Jaw Dropping Holiday Home Videos

These are the homes of people who have WAY more disposal income and much more time and talent than I do. I enjoy decorating for Christmas but my decor is much simpler, which goes well with my also much simpler home decor. I would probably not like if my home looked like a department store window. Not at all.
