Re: I love Kirkland Store BUT....

@homedecor1

I guess we are lucky because the Kirkland Stores here are NOT overly fragrant......

The store I find offensive is the grocery store aisle with all the GAIN products and also when my neighbors use GAIN in their wash or dryer you can smell it a mile away---thats the fragrance I find OFFENSIVE!

I could never work there because I would have a headache every day.  Another store that bothers me just to walk past is Yankee Candle.

Re: I love Kirkland Store BUT....

Ten minutes is about my max time I can spend in the store.  Our Kirkland's moved to a larger location and sometimes it is better.  I remarked to the clerk once about the overpowering smell and she said "some people have to wear masks (this was pre-Covid) to shop here" and I thought "what does that tell you??!!"  You would think they would be more sensitive to this.

Re: I love Kirkland Store BUT....

I haven’t been in a Kirkand’s in years! Loved that store. Always lots of interesting things to look at. We had one in our large mall, but it closed. There’s still one in an outdoor strip mall several mikes from my home. I don’t remember strong scents in our store. I couldn’t handle that, because strong odors trigger my asthma. I still have and use a Christmas tree skirt purchased from Kirkland’s.

Re: I love Kirkland Store BUT....

Last time I entered a Kirkland store, I was out the door within minutes. The scents were overwhelming, migraine inducing and asthma triggering. I literally had to use my rescue inhaler immediately after I walked out the door. it's a shame their store is unshoppable for those of us with allergies and asthma.
I have had the same issue with Bath and Body Works and Yankee Candle. Years ago I could shop any of these stores with no issues but these overwhelming chemical laden scents nowadays are ridiculous.
