I guess I need some stretch sheets, do they exist?

We bought a new mattress for the cottage, only a couple inches thicker than the 10 inch ones we have here at the house.  I bought some of those wrinkle defense sheets since our current sheets were tight on the new mattress.  Now it looks like heck, the sheets are loose and sloppy.  Some sort of give or stretch would work for more sizes.  Does anyone have a recommendation?

That is why I bought jersey knit sheets.

Most of my sheet sets did not fit on my new mattresses. I ended up getting rid of 8 sets of sheets. Even the new sheets I bought, it is iffy that they fit. Some say they fit a 15" mattress but good luck.

It is so frustrating trying to get sheets to fit the thicker and thicker mattresses.

There are little elastic bands with clips on the ends that are meant to help keep your fitted sheets on. You can get them in the bedding department at WalMart, Target, KMart, BBB, anywhere really. You can also buy jersey knit sheets, but they too may be made for thicker mattresses, so they will still be loose and sloppy, so you'll need corner keepers.

Same thing for the thinner mattresses.  The pockets are too deep, the sides don't stay tucked in, even with elastic all around and you end up sleeping on a wrinkled mess of a bottom sheet.

I tried sheet suspenders and they were more trouble than they were worth.

@depglass

We love our polar fleece sheets (I am an all-cotton lover and these win, hands down).

Hopefully, QVC will carry them again this year. Never worry about sheets fitting again! Another perk: they dry quickly and are light-weight washing and drying them.💗

Loveschocolate, you sold me on the Property Brothers sheets.  I don't know why I hadn't checked the reviews, they are pretty good.  I saw only one presentation but that was just after I got the wrinkle defense sheets.

Lovestoteach, I am already a huge polar fleece fan, and use them in the winter, actually about 8 months a year.  There is no air conditioning in that cottage and it can get pretty hot, hence the search for non-polar fleece for the summer.

The jersey knit sheets ended up on the air mattress years ago.

Love love love the Jersey Knit sheets I got in Wal Mart--I was always a 100% cotton sheet snob but when I saw these and they kind of do stretch--I decided to try--they are 50/50 poly/cotton--and I love them so much I went to Wal Mart and I went on line to buy another white set as a back up--unfortnately I couldn't find white in 2 stores and not avail on line--they do have other colors and I'm now thinking of getting the marled grey--they have a wonderful stretch and they actually fit the mattress perfectly!!--no more fighting w/the fitted sheet to stretch onto the mattress--I recently purchased a new mattress and it is a bit taller than the one I had and the fitted sheet fits perfectly and goes on easily and stays in place w/extra room so it totally fits the entire side of the mattress--I'll be checking on line for the white and the next time I'm in wal mart I will def b picking up another set even if it's not white--I say--give them a try--I think you'll be glad u did--I knoow I am Woman Wink

Check with your local mattress companies.  They sell the sheets you might be after.

I have always used the large quilting safety pins to get a tight fit with the bottom fitted sheet. I use 2 per side and just tuck and fastento the mattress welting. I like a tight fitting bottom sheet and this does the trick for me.
