I Wouldn't Mind Spending The Weekend In Ralph Lauren's Cabin....

[ Edited ]

during a winter snow storm.

Photo of his cabin in summer located in Colorado.  Sorry, couldn't find a photo of it covered in snow, so you'll have to use your imagination.

Ralph Lauren accessorizes, so don't be surprised when you see a lot of it.

I like how he uses different styles to create a "cozy" feeling.  Take note of the Aubusson area rug.

Alone, there are some styles I wouldn't want to use at all.

An example of a style I wouldn't like is the bed frame, but in this room with this fabric used on the headboard and foot along with all the other decor, I think it's perfect for the look he wanted to capture.

I think he's a master at mixing patterns.  Plaid and American Indian throw rugs and throw, red chairs, and oriental rug.

He uses quite a few different animal antlers in photos of rooms he decorates to present his home products, so these from Mr. Moose aren't surprising.

The most important accessory in the room...of course, the Golden Retriever.

Typical Colonial Americana for the feminine guest.  Looks like a Pennsylvania Dutch (German) blanket chest at the foot of the bed.

Notice the equestrian touch, one of his favorite styles, the boots, riding cap, horse painting, horse on the night stand, and something that looks equestrian hanging on the wall to the right.

Very masculine for male guests.  I like his use of a red oriental rug in this room, a style not usually seen with buffalo plaid, but I think it works.

I would never sleep in the bedroom that has the dog in it.  Yuck...antlers over the bed.  No thanks.  I'd be afraid to move for fear that would drop down on me. That bedroom also has too much going on and way too much junk and clutter.

The other two bedrooms are great..I call dibs on one of them.

The inside pics appear to be wintertime....Christmas decor and wool bedding and heavy quilts.

I would also ditch the antlers!  But i like the rest of the cabin very much.  Would be a cozy spot to spend a winter weekend.

@Carmie   I kept misreading your post.  I thought it said "I would never sleep in a bedroom that has a dog in it" and I thought to myself, "hmmmm, didn't I read earlier today that her dogs were in bed fighting?!".  Then I FINALLY realized that you were saying you wouldn't sleep in THAT particular room.  (I must be a little slow today!).

I love all of these pictures, but I agree that I'd prefer to not have antlers over my head.  Well, I don't care for the antlers period, no matter where they are.

@Citrine1   I just re-read my post.  It is misleading.  The dog can stay, the antlers would have to go, or the dog can sleep with me in another room.  LOL

@Foxxee -

I love it!

(except for the antlers)

@Foxxee,  fun post.  Ralph Lauren has an absolute genius for capturing that cozy, traditional American look.  It doesn't have to be my particular style for me to revel in the detail and cohesiveness of his designs!

Very appealing  and cozy!  When I spent summers in the mountains near a lake, quite a few people had log cabins.  I loved the feel of them, always warm and welcoming.  For some reason deer heads were above the fireplaces which was my only turn off.  This cabin reminds me of some I used to visit and stay at.
