Space heater rec

[ Edited ]

Looking for recs for a space heater for a bedroom. I want one to place on the dresser not the floor.   One that you actually have and like. I had a Holmes brand - about 5 or 6 years old - it started making a horrible noise so I pitched it.  The bedroom is fairly big - about 15 x 20.  Thanks.

I do like the Duraflame that we own - 3 in total.  Last year there was a problem with the central heat in our home and we relied on them for about a week in the winter.  I see none like them in the QVC inventory currently, but they are just little cubes.  No remote, no thermostat.  Just off/on according to user comfort.  There are many with enhanced features but I like these because they are compact and "fit in".

we have had excellent luck with dimplex heaters, duraflame, and dyson.

@FranandZoe   We have two Vornado brand space heaters.  We swear by them, have been using them for years.  Best ones made IMO.  We have purchased on Amazon in the past.  We also own Vornado fans for the summer.  Good luck.

I have a made-in-Ireland Dimplex that is still going strong after 15 years.

That's a big bedroom (lucky you), so you will need something small enough to sit on the dresser yet circulates air well.  Check out the Vornado line.

Home Depot  sold Allen electric infrared  tower heaters that  havecherry  stained wood look  cabinet- can say mine  really warms up a room . Adjustable heat temp, fan speed, timer , remote. Tall slim design.

I would not recommend the Duraflame that have a heater box under the unit near the floor as these do not heat a room as well as the Allen one . Also the ones with the heater box on the floor  heat up the carpet or vinyl floor or wood flooring .

I like Lasko and Vornado when it comes to heaters and fans.

Thanks so much everyoe!

I ended up buyig a De'Longhi brand at Lowes.  It's a nice size, great price, lot of features (thermostat, timer, oscillates, can use as fan), 3 yr warranty.  I was able to order online yesterday and pick up in store.  It works great.

I'd like one that's economical to run.

@FranandZoe  Good luck with your purchase and thanks for giving us the "denouement." (It's so great when a word you haven't used in years pops into your head.)
