If you had just one kitty who liked to elegantly grace the middle of your coffee table, then you'd have no need to find a centerpiece or whatever for it.
Some felines often resemble a statue anyway, as cats can relax, sleep, and nap like no other animal.
And although most can be trained, they just make it look like everything was their idea, LOL.
Yep, I know you enjoy dogs, especially the stunning and energetic Weims you once had. I'm thinking that you also enjoyed the William Wegman books, especially the adorable "Puppies" one. 8)
I have a tablet of Wegman weims. I use for printer paper. I still miss our last weim and it has been 6 years already. They definitely own you, not the other way around.
Daisy, our last weim , did some modeling - her picture was in dog world magazine.

I have a coffee table and I am constantly changing the decor to match the seasons. Right now I have a flower arrangement, a Jim Shore angel and some books. After Labor Day I will put dress it up with some fall items -- pumpkins, leaves, and a flameless candle.

Fun topic........mine has a beautiful cream color carved in flowers and design tissue holder.........heavy like ivory..........it is old. A cream flower in procelin (sp) and two flameless candles on crackled cream candle sticks and the book Romantic Style sitting in the center.

Great idea.

I have a huge multi colored blown glass bowl, it's beautiful. I also have fresh flowers and a 8 inch solid crystal ball on a small base, that is really cool! I found it at Williams Sonoma Home website and had to have it.

I'm lucky if I can SEE my coffee table. It seems to be the repository for every book and magazine either of us is reading, plus my nail stuff on a tray, a couple piles of jewelry, etc.

I used to use an old trunk that was a family heirloom as a coffee table in our family room. When we moved we no longer have a family room so now it is in the guest room as a TV stand. It is cedar lined so I keep our winter clothing in there - plus some keepsakes like my wedding dress and my Mom's wedding cake top bride & groom.

Usually I just have my current catalogs on mine. Can't have any "decorations" because one of my kitties hates clutter...if he can't knock it off with his paw, he will push it off with his head!
It does have a very pretty inlaid wood top, though, so it actually looks really nice with nothing on it.
