We have a platform bed - no problems!

Roomba is the best. Goes under my bed, coffee tables and couches. I am amazed at what it picks up. I have wanted one for a long time and I am not disappointed. Go for it.

We have a log bed with very low side rails. I also have bad arthritic knees so no kneeling for me. I have to get DH to help me move it, so it doesn't get done often." I think the solution is a platform bed like those found in hotels. No cleaning under the bed for the cleaning staff and you can't accidentally leave something there.

DH is having trouble turning our queen size mattress so we rarely do it anymore.. I have easy slides from QVC and was wondering if they could just be left on all the time? I am also wondering if a handyman could put steel roller balls...I think they used to be called castor's or something like that???? I really appreciate all you ladies responding. Usually, hubby takes care of these things but he has faced a lot this last year and a half and just got some "not so good" news so I am just trying not to bother him with things.
We leave the sliders on under the headboard and in the middle of the bed all the time because they aren't visible. When we are ready to move the bed, all we have to do is put sliders at the foot of the bed. We have a TempurPedic mattress and it is so dense and heavy that I even have a difficult time lifting it when changing sheets. My husband loves the mattress but I would never buy another one due to these problems.

HA! I know what you mean! I'm sure there are things growing under there. My son used to leave plates of food under his bed as a teenager. I would go in and scream....."There's fungus among us"....he laughed but knew that it really meant...."clean it up..NOW!
Only DH and me in our house now, so there's no food or fungus (I hope!) under there. But there's plenty of dust and a thriving colony of dust-bunnies!

I have slides under each leg of our four poster bed. DH and I move the bed carefully when we want to clean under it. It slides easily for cleaning.

I saw that in some pictures of bedrooms the other day online. Not a bad idea. Don't know how many more years I could get out of it, though! It is considered quite stylish now! DH wants to start by looking for a sweeper. Ours needs replaced so guess that is where we will start. Between my mom not feeling well this week and all the snow we haven't been able to do it, yet.

Furniture sliders are now sold in the big box stores. We bought QVC sliders 10 yrs. ago and they work well. We just had painting done and Lowes sells the sliders now. They work great. And if you want you can leave them on all the time. A bedspread would conceal them between cleanings.
