Re: How Quiet is Your Refrigerator?

I bought a Whirlpool fridge last July, finally got it in November, got a real lemon, nothing but issues, it was sooooo loud , metal on metal took 3 service calls. Never again but fyi Whirlpool now owns Amana, Kitchen Aide and Samsung, my salesperson told me to stay clear of these four brands, not my original sales person, just a heads up.

Refrigerator owner for 60+ years, many brands in several homes. Best overall brand I've ever owned....the old Sears Kenmore appliances.

Re: How Quiet is Your Refrigerator?

Don't buy a Samsung.  They're horrible.

We have one that is always causing problems.  We had the repair guy out numerous times.

It freezes up and forms ice in the fridge under the deli drawer, then it leaks water all over my floor.  The compressor has been replaced several times.  We do not have the ice maker hooked up.

You can find many complaints about this brand on line.  I am looking for a new fridge too.  I can guarantee it's not going to be a Samsung.

I also have had to throw everything away that was in the freezer twice already because it thawed while we were away.

I bought a GE a couple years ago when my 25 year old Kenmore died. In all, I like it, but it is on the noisey side, but I've gotten used to it. I'm pretty sure though that it won't last 25 years like my other, but neither will I.

I just replaced my Kenmore (can't remember how old, but old enough) also with a GE.  I agree it is a bit on the noisy side, but not obnoxiously so.  Also agree it most likely will not last as long as my Kenmore, I absolutely hate replacing appliances knowing quality and durability are not what they used to be.  But, also like you @catter70 , I expect it will outlive me at this point ☺️
