Just read a short article about washing bath towels.

Growing up my Mom washed all bath towels and sheets once a week, without fail.

I have been a bit more flexible. My Mom only worked for a couple of years, outside of the house. She was a teacher before she got married. I worked 1 or 2 jobs from high school on, sometimes 80 hours a week. Washing bath towels was not a high priority.

I always thought the only time I used bath towels was after a shower. I figure I am pretty clean after taking a shower. How dirty can the bath towel get? So every week or two was just fine.

The article says wash bath towels once a week. Guess I will try and get to washing them every week. Guess Mother knows best.

I've always washed mine at least once a week.

I only do laundry once a week, I spend the whole day doing it, so technically I'm only washing them once a week but I put clean ones up every 2 days.

I do laundry once a month but I put out clean linens and towels each week. It's only me here so one month of laundry is not a big deal. I have enough clothes to last a lot longer than a month...LOL!

@drizzellla Having a pool and jacuzzi, we go through a lot of, not just bath towels but beach towels. Therefore, I do a load about every 3-4 days. I gather all the towels and wash them.

My brother told me once he would only use a bath towel once. I found that strange. I noticed now he seems to use it at least 2-3 times.

My mom's rule was a clean towel for every use.  So we did a LOT of loads of towels.

Us? Use it two maybe 3 times and in the hampet it goes. We wash towels about every 9 days or so.  Sometimes wash towels and jeans together.

I only use a bath towel once. I am really germ conscious. I don't know which end dried my face or down there. (Do not want to chance a mixup.)  I also change hand towels daily. I do a load of towels every other day.

I use a clean bath towel every time I shower, washcloths are used once, hand towels may last 2 days & I do laundry when I have a proper size load of them.

Growing up my stay at home mom seemed to do laundry almost every day and we always had a clean towel for every use.  Both DH and I work full time.  DH works from home and he washes the sheets and towels every other week.  The bed linens get changed at that time but we use a fresh towel every week.

I have always done a lot of laundry, now just me ,and a dog ,i wash my towels ,wash cloths ,kitchen towels  a few times a week,sheets twice a wk.
