Dr. Rick's rule of thumb for couch pillows is "if there's nowhere to sit, you have too many."  Smiley Indifferent

@LdyBugz That was pretty funny!

Myself I am a mulitple pillow person, you could say I have a pillow "issue".  LOL

Seriously I like them within reason, I don't go crazy but I think they add a comfort and a warmth to the home.   When I purchase new ones my hubby will say "is that new?" and I do the typical "no, we've had these forever!"    I have two couches with several on each and the beds are a whole other story Smiley Happy

No pillows at all, ever, for me.

But I will take the dog 🦮

I don't like sofa/chair throw pillows at all at any time. Always in the way or on the floor.

On the other hand I love dogs!!

Our Broyhill sofa came with two pillows and that's all I want. Pillows look great in pictures, but I find them a nuisance.

Two is enough for me.

These rooms are done by interior designers to either sell their service, sell the furniture and/or the accessories.

People don't have a "good living room" set aside for company any more.

I still have a "good living room" set aside for company 😄 because I inherited many pieces of vintage cherry & mahogany family furniture dating back to 40's. Can't just stick that furniture in a family room or great room - much too formal, so it sits in my living room with my other pretty things where I can enjoy it each day. I also have a formal dining room, another dinosaur in today's newer homes. Just different times for different generations.

Have you seen that commercial for Progressive Insurance, when Dr. Rick helps the woman with too many pillows on her couch? That's me.....I have too many, but I love them.

I have lumbar pillows on my couches and chairs.  They are actually indoor/outdoor pillows done in Sunbrella fabric in a color called Peony.  It's discontinued, I think, and I'm broken hearted!  A peach/coral color.

I  got them from Frontgate.  Some are monogrammed.

I like the fact that I can remove the covers and wash them.  And like them especially because they aren't filled with down.  Sometimes it's very hard to find pillows that don't have feathers in them.Woman Sad

Although I like the look of lots of pillows on the sofa, it just doesn't seem practical. I would have to remove most of them just to sit on the couch and then what about guests. I think they would feel funny removing the pillows just to sit down! So I'll stick with just a couple for me!
