I don't like a lot of pillows on the sofa.  Otherwise they just end up getting tossed on the floor because there's no where to sit.  Actually, this post made me think of that Progressive insurance commercial with Dr. Rick!

I have pillows, tons of them, on all my sofas and beds throughout my home.

I just don't see the point of decorating a room with pillows, plus where is a guest supposed to sit? On the edge of the sofa? Or do they pick up the pillow and hold it? Or, place it on the floor? I'm for no more than 3 pillows on a sofa - 1 or 2 are even better!

We have a very large U shaped sectional. It is 2 large sofas and a large chaise.

I have 6 pillows total on the corners of the sectional. Two at each corner. They take up very little room because the sectional is so large. The pillows get used daily and I change them seasonally and for Holidays

I donated the throw pillows on all the beds. I just didn't like them at all any more. All I did was put them on and take them off every day.

I like the clean look of the beds with just comforters and bed pillows in the fall/winter and cotton coverlets and bed pillows in the spring/ summer.

I have a very large sectional with a chaise.  I have 9 pillows on that couch.  There's plenty of room for people to sit.  If they don't want a pillow, they can move it.

I have an obscene amount of pillows on my bed - 4 sleeping pillows, 2 shams, and 4 decorative pillows.  The shams and the decorative pillows go on the bench when I turn down the bed.

Two pillows on sofa and one on love seat. Two matching quilt shams on king bed. We're loungers. Toddler grandson loves the sofa pillows.

@wilma

Some of these pillows are pretty.  For me, I'd only have 2-3 at most.  Too many of them just appear as clutter & I think are unwelcoming to someone looking for a place to sit.

I love the teal color pillows with the neutral sofa, but again, too many. There's very little room to sit.

I agree, too many pillows on this sofa.  I like pillows.  Diverse pillows are nice.  Several.  Room to sit too.

Pillows provide comfort to short people who sit on a couch where the person's back does not reach the back of the couch, with the knees bent at the edge of the couch.  I rarely reach the back, a pillow provides support.

I have a sectional sofa and there are two pillows at the corner and each end.  One pillow is the same fabric as my curtains and the other is the same fabric as the chair in that room.  One is a print and one is a solid.

I have four pillows on my bed.  On my side I use one for my head and one between my legs as I am a side sleeper.  DH only uses one pillow for his head and the other goes on the floor at night.
