How I solved my "Where Did I Put My Glasses?" problem

[ Edited ]

Like many of us, I have several pairs of glasses, distance, computer, reading, and various bifocal combinations of same.  I spent years wasting time hunting for these.  It finally dawned on me, since I am a glass collector, I have several sets of various tumblers and golblets.  Some of these patterns even have small vases.  I took one distinctive set, Westmoreland Panelled Grape milk glass, and placed one at each crucial location.  The computer desk, the  coffee table where I do my reading, my bedside table, and the bathroom counter.   The one in the bathroom holds one pair of cheap reading glasses so I can read labels. And I can stash the good pair I have on before I get into the shower. This system sure saves a lot of frustration. Check your local thrift store if you don't have excess glassware.

@depglass  I keep readers in every room of my home, but I never thought of using tumblers as holders.  I don't have a vast collection of glassware, so I will check out a secondhand store or even a dollar store.  Thanks for sharing a great idea.

Re: How I solved my "Where Did I Put My Glasses?" problem

I had cataracts removed over 10 years ago so I just need the readers to see close up.  However,  just chose to continue to wear glasses.  It's a clear lens except for the bi-focal part.  It saves constantly putting readers on, then off, then on again, then off.....  I also never lose them since I'm constantly wearing them.  Both my surgeon and optometrist said a lot of people do this.

Now I just do readers and do have them in bifocals, but not a fav.

So I just got a slew of readers and litter them all over.  Better for my nerves. Even have a couple outside in case deadheading strikes.

I'd need an urn for the top of my head, because that's usually where they are when I'm looking for them.
