Ohhh the sweet memories of shopping at Home Goods, Max and Marshalls...I pretty much always found something(s) I wanted or needed for family, myself, home or gifts.  They do not have these stores here😢💦  Enjoy your shopping adventures, bargains and great finds.  We hardly ever see any real bargains here...

OK, @pupwhipped @proudlyfromNJ @goldensrbest

You are to blame for me jumping in the car and heading back to HG to score the cabinet! Smiley Happy

It was the only one like it so I HAD to buy it!

They slid that bad boy in the back of my car and I need to bring it in the house and get it decorated. I have a small VPH MG lamp that will look very cute on it!

Someone followed me around, then began talking, and finally mentioned the item in my cart, which fortunately was near the bottom, lol.  She obviously saw it, walked around thinking, and then I came along and snatched it.  This was my first introduction to Home Goods.

@mousiegirl

You snooze, you lose! It is best to put the item in your cart and edit as you go along.

I have never had anyone try to snatch a goody from my cart! I will have to keep closer watch!

@flickerbulb  She only mentioned the item, lol, and I could tell she was hoping I would offer it to her.

I also had something "poached out of my cart"--I was in Bed Bath & Beyond & had a list of what I wanted 2 look at while I was there--and I had my 20off coupons attached 2 that list--I left my cart 2 look @ something in the next aisle--someone too all my coupons out of my cart!!--pretty sad state of affairs that someone has to stoop sooooooooo low!

It's amazing what we can make happen when we ladies want something.  Years ago while on a bike ride I came across an estate sale.  I found a old floor lamp with a shelf that I could not pass up.  The man of the house helped me dismantle it so I could get it home.  We wrapped pieces and put them in the trunk and saddle bags and strapped the long base along the side of the bike.  All arrived home unharmed even the glass shelf and I remembered how to put it back together.  About 2 years ago I found an old tall oak dresser.  I put the back seats down on my little Neon and was very carefully able to get it into my trunk.  It took up the back seat and the trunk plus.  Thank goodness I always have a blanket, rope and bunnies in my trunk.  It arrived home undamaged.  Never tell a woman she can't do something.  ;-)

This is what I do with my purse. The dang thing is heavy and I just can't tote it on my shoulder when grocery shopping. I put it in the shopping cart top section and then I use those safety straps that are there for buckling in kids. I put those through the handles/straps of my purse and buckle her up....oh dear, there I go calling a purse a "her" just like the hosts on QVC do. LOL!!! Anyway, if someone tries to grab my purse there going to be dragging a shopping cart along with them. Ha! I know it's not 100% safe, but I never take my eyes off my purse anyway. The only problem I've had is sometimes those buckles have seen better days and when I've gone to unbuckle my purse, I've had a bit of a struggle.

Sorry this thread has gone off point a bit, but thought I would share this tip for what it's worth. As I said, it's not foolproof, but makes me feel more comfortable, anyway. I'm always amazed at women who have their purse just thrown in their cart and are feet away totally distracted checking out the produce. You just can't be too careful these days!

I stopped in HG yesterday and saw a slim cabinet that is similar to one that Valerie used to sell in multiple colors.

If you have been watching VPH for awhile, you know which one I am referring to.

The one I saw has two drawers and two doors and was in a pretty brushed silver finish.

After watching the VPH show and how she displayed everything, I am thinking of going back and picking it up to put near my front door.

This is the one Jill featured recently H208032 that is sort of an update to the VPH cabinet.

$100 cheaper and no shipping. I will upload a photo later.
