HoMedics Deep Sleep Revitalize Alarm Clock

[ Edited ]

Is this too new for anyone to own one yet?  I don't even see this particular model on amazon yet.

It looks cool and useful. V35958  I'm intrigued, but haven't decided to buy yet.

ETA 2/8/19: now on amazon but cheaper here even w/shipping

still undecided, not sure if I want something else electronic near the bed (and never an Echo or any of those kinds of things)

My white noise machine is from Brookstone and when it dies I will be lost.

I'll be interested to see how this one measures up.

I like the idea of white noise, rain drops and other soothing sounds, but have never tried anything like that yet.  This does sound interesting.

@GingerPeach

I’m going to check this out.  Currently, I use Calmdotcom and really like it, white noise, great sleep stories, meditation, and sleep music. Use through my iPhone, which is also my alarm, so on bedside table a night anyway.

More costly than I’d like, but is good quality.

Good wishes to you and Kiku. Heart

Re: HoMedics Deep Sleep Revitalize Alarm Clock

I read this and went looking on Amazon.  I found so many, even an essential oil diffuser with a built-in sound machine.  I put that in my cart since I use essential oils.  I ended up getting an Amazon Echo for $69.  It will replace my radio alarm clock and do sounds to fall asleep by for a given time.  I've already downloaded the Amazon Skills that will do these things.  There are many that use it this way.  I'm excited to try it since my radio alarm clock is years old, plus the Echo is voice activated so I can tell it what to do and it will do it.  Better than kids and a husband and not quite as cuddly as a dog.

Re: HoMedics Deep Sleep Revitalize Alarm Clock

I've got my Amazon Echo. I played with it and the Amazon Skill Sleep Sounds. There are many sounds to choose from. My little kitty doesn't like thunderstorms, so that sound set her on alert. I was quite realistic. I've got my alarm set to wake me with my prefered radio station and will listen to the sleep sounds by asking Alexa to play the sound and then set to turn off after a few hours. I've also got her set to turn off the light ring around the top since I need darkness. Some suggested electrical tape or liquid electrical tape (cool idea there to paint it where you want it), but it does have a do not disturb mode except for the alarms. The sound is excellent and Alexa is so responsive especially compared to a husband or kids or even a well trained dog. It is like I have a servant but it doesn't cook, clean or do laundry. Drats. Amazon and Google should really work on a Rosie for us!

If you have a smartphone, there are many apps that are free or almost free you might want to consider that do the same things or similar

I don't have a smart phone, and yes, I knew that.  Thanks, @willdob3

I really have no use for a smart phone and I absolutely hate charging some device all the time.  I even hate charging my Kindle.  This thing plugs in.
