I think it serves the purpose for people who live in apartments or maybe a childs/teens bedroom for homework space.

I wouldn't want it placed in a home ..sitting in the middle of the family room.

This isn't for me, there is no appeal and it doesn't look comfortable .  However, in a place where space is scarce, it would work because it folds up, that is the only perk.

Absolutely impossible for me .... there is no way I could do any work in that itsy bitsy space!

I have two cabinets with just office supplies, computer, printer, various electroncs.

My apt. has a large "L" shaped area for living room and dining "area." I dividded the area into three sections - living room / "library/office" / dining.

No.

Not much better than a card table and a folding chair.

It's not perfect but it's a long sight better than nothing!

It looks uncomfortable...........

Maybe in a small apartment. If I were to build a home, I'd have a small "pocket" office. As long as we had a wall for a desk and bookcases, I wouldn't need a big room. 7 x 10 feet would be perfect.
