I purchased a house and I will be meeting with the window treatment man in the morning. I've chosen to put blinds in the house..my question is ''Should I put blinds in the garage also?''  The attached garage opens to the side and protrudes out more than the rest of the house.  Will it look strange if I put blinds everywhere else  and just leave no 'treatment' on the 2 garage windows at all?   Seems like I recall in years past that the house should look the same across the front of the house.  What to do !?!  Thanks friends !

Yes.  I would put window treatments on the garage windows.  Not only to look all the same but for security purposes also.  I've been shopping for window treatments for a while now.  I want roman shades in my kitchen area and two other small windows in the house.  A total of 9 windows.  My quotes have been $8,000.  I'm trying another company and Home Depot after the new year.  If you don't mind,  report back as to who you used and cost.  Good luck..

You mean on the overhead garage door?? You'll need to secure those down so they don't fall away from the windows when you open the garage door. My overhead door has no windows but there is a window on one wall of the garage where I put up a shade to keep thing private inside.

I would tint overhead door windows.

I wouldn't put horizontal blinds in a garage. You'll have a dusty mess. A pull-shade is your best option.

there were a few small windows the  garage  that my ex spouse put cheap blinds to cover---they looked fine except the jerk NEVER cleaned them in the over 30 years they  were up--so gross!! but he was an idiot anyway---I had them in the house too--better ones-- but man did I HATE having to dust them---if I were to get blinds I would get the kind that are enclosed in the window panes and you have a remote to open and close them---

@ScrapHappy .....I used a local establishment called Affordable Blinds - the guy told me they are not a 'franchise' so the prices would be cheaper..hum..it wasn't so cheap, the total was $1,954.00 ...but I decided to go with them anyway.  He said the prices had gone up recently, like everything else.  Thanks for your input.

I have had 3 companies out so far.  Budget blinds has been the cheapest at $4100 but they are also the fabrics and style I like the lease.  I had a local company which came to $8000.  Then the last, 3 Day Blinds said it would be $9600 but if I agreed right then and there, it would be $8700.

Re: Help with 'blinds' please !!

@sarahpanda Like many who replied to your post, I'd put matching window blinds on the garage windows.   Our garage windows are across the front of the house, so I bought cheap blinds at Home Depot.  They "match" the custom blinds on the other windows.
