I've battled wasps off and on for years. The best advice I can give (and others here are saying it also) get an EXTERMINATOR! The best one in your area.
I interfered with a yellow jacket nest and was swarmed. Over 30 stings. They followed me as I tried to run from them. It was very scary and very painful. Luckily no allergies but I was ill and sore for a day or two. Don't fool around with them.

The landlord could also buy a mixable type of spray that is used with a portable sprayer to get the liquid down into the crevice. This might need to be done several times until the wasps are wiped out.
This same type type of thing happened to my mom 2 years ago; the bees went under the outdoor carpet to the crevice between the house and porch at her front door. A sprayer was the only way to get the liquid into that narrow crevice.

It's the landlord's responsibility to get rid of the wasps IMO....not yours, especially since all he's done is buy cans of wasp spray. A professional is needed to deal with this many wasps, and that's what the landlord needs to do. For my own peace of mind, I'd still call an exterminator if he refuses to take responsibility for it, and I'd pay for it myself.

Don't handle alone. Call a pest control service!

I agree that it is landlord’s problem and he isn’t going to do anything about it. I am checking on pest control and no luck so far.

Agree with others you need an exterminator.....
We have a lot of Paper Wasps in our area, they dont attack unless their disturbed, so thats why Im saying get an exterminator....

I was going to say exterminator too. Wasps are nasty, aggresive little beasts that will sting you, several times, for no apparent reason (it happened to me).
One other general piece of advice my doctor gave me which I'll pass along to you: when you're outdoors, don't wear any kind of scent; it really attracts them. After I took her advice, I didn't get stung again.

@wagirl wrote:Not something a few cans of spray is going to help----need a pro--wasps only use their nest once--then go build a new one. Had a HUGE nest in our roof that was empty so all that was done is to knock it down. Had to replace our roof due to a falling tree or would never have found it. gives me chills!!!!
Something similar happened to me: when my house was being remodeled several years ago, the contractor found a HUGE, abandoned nest. I almost barfed to look at it. The only good thing about wasps is that they die off during the winter and then find a different place to build a nest.

This has to be done proper because they will come back every year. Maybe a bee keeper would like to take them if they are bees but you said wasps. Yes not enough cans of wasp killer can tackle this huge job. If you are renting then it isn't your problem it's the landlord so they better get ready to pay for it. I would take pictures of all the places they are hanging out, so you have proof. If you own the property then your problem but they come back every year unless it is taken care of. Hope you don't have pets that need to go outside for their safety..
