The table looks fine to me. I think the chairs are out of proportion to the table. I also think that you are the only person who would even notice it. It's a beautiful set and I love all those windows. I think once you have decorated the room, you won't notice the table situation. I would add colorful seat cusions to the chairs, some type of decorator piece in the center of the table, valances. You just have to add some color and decorate the room. It will be lovely.

I don't think putting a larger piece of glass or wood on top is such a good idea. How would you keep it from moving or sliding, it wouldn't be sturdy.

I can put cushions on the chair. My dogs would pee on the rugs. I can add tropical plants. Not sure about putting glass on top that might work but don’t want to scratch the marble. Good ideas! Thank you
Please anymore suggestions would be great!
@Beautiful life OK. You asked. Remembe that! I would add some -- wait here it comes -- wallpaper to the walls behind the set. Something with greenery, something to draw your eye away from the table, something with some depth and perspective to it. Maybe even a trellis pattern.
I would be fabulous with those walls and the shape of the room. Then add some brightly colored chair cushions to the chairs to make a color in the paper pop.
It would be like a fabulous outdoor room!

Glass keeps the area looking larger.
Came back to say I see momtodogs and I had the same ideas.
As I read your post I'm wondering if you're referring to plexiglass. This is available at Lowes in different thicknesses and might work for her table. I believe it is more cost effective than glass and can be custom cut depending on her need.

Can you shift the chairs a little bit?
As I'm looking at it like a clock, the chairs are at 12, 3, 6 and 9. Can you move them to 1, 4, 7 and 11?

I think a chair at 11 would look weird because there would be more space between positions 7 and 11 and less space between positions 11 and 1. If you like symmetry as I do, put a chair at 10, not 11.

It's the same space between each chair. Visually, it might help the space.
