My maternal grandparents had an outhouse. They only had running water in the kitchen.
My husband grew up with no bathroom in his house. They used an outhouse and took a bath in a tub placed in the kitchen with heated water. His house was in the same town where we both grew up.
Finally, when he was around 12, his neighborhood was razed for new houses to be built. His family moved into a home with a a bathroom.
My kids and grandkids have all used outhouses. They are still located at some state parks.

No, but I have been on boat trips with my husband where I questioned if I really needed to visit the bathroom in some of those places. YUCK!!!!!!!

Yep. As a kid we lived with my grandmother on her farm. Took Baths in a wash tub on a screened in back porch. Until I could reach the outhouse seat, I used a little metal pot indoors.
We used a cistern to collect water. There was a pump at the kitchen sink for water. There was an ice box with a place at the bottom for a large block of ice. I don't remember the cooking stove but we had a large wood stove for heat.

Not here. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and both sets of grandparents along with cousins lived in Brooklyn in apartment buildings. My maternal grandparents owned a duplex.
However, I can remember my paternal grandmother's apartment having one of those old fashioned pull chains to flush with the tank hanging high overhead.

My aunt and uncle bought a farm in West Virginia when I was a child, and yes, they had an outhouse down the hill in the back of the house. Not the best when it is raining and muddy!
I have used some bathrooms around the world that were quite similar to outhouses--or maybe not even as nice. I remember one place at a campsite in Europe that only had a hole and two places to put your feet--hopefully you had good aim! You also had to bring your own toilet paper, and in many places paper could not be flushed.
Yes, we have come a long way!

Not me. But my dad did. It wasn't a rural location. South Philadelphia in the 1920's.

Coming from generations of city folks, I never had the pleasure. ![]()

Yes, several times at state parks here in Indiana. Some grave yards had them too.
