Re: Hate when I do this (impulse QVC purchase without checking all their options)

@Annabellethecat66

you aren't alone...I did some of those "great idea" buys & then realized the people I "thought" would like nope🙄.

Today my spouse said you got a few qvc credits on the charge ....little did he know the return shipping fees outweighed the credits😡😡😡.

I have 4 other things to go back.  I don't know why I never learn buying Vionics at Q (or other clothing) never fit☹️.  Shoes are my usual size but blisters on my feet are telling me otherwise after my morning walk!

I hope this year is the year I learn🙂🙂🙂

Its nice to see you're posting again🌷

I am a major impulse buyer.   So what I usually do now is put it on check hold.  If I still really want it a week later, I purchase it.  More times than not, I cancel the item.

Plus I like to read reviews before purchasing, especially for clothing.  Got burned too many times.

Good for you! (I'm also a review reader.)

@Annabellethecat66.  Just assume that this trash can is saluting you as the household Commander-in-Chief.

@homedecor1  Yes!  I know what you're saying about the shipping being more than the first easy pays!  I've gone "into the hole" several times.  (Kinda says something about those easy pays doesn't it).  Ugh!

I wish I could post pictures (too dumb to figure it out) because you should see some of the packages I send back to QVC.

By the time I put so much tape around those white plastic packages.....well...they are a site to behold!  Maybe 1/3 roll of that clear tape.

My daughter sent me a video of my 6 year old grandson opening an "I love you" present I sent him.  (Little kids don't get mail and I thought it would be fun for him to get mail).

My point is (about the tape) he can be heard saying, "Mom!  Why does Grandma make this so tight?  There's too much tape on this thing?"  So funny!

For that kind of money for a trash can it should have a thing where you can adjust the sensitivity on it.

One good thing is it's across from the refrigerator.  So, every time I go into the frig it goes off.

See.....it's kinda like someone saying...."Uh! Huh?  I see you going to the frig again...I see you....what cha' doin' in that frig'?"

@LoveMyBaby....you were lucky you could cancel the first order...there is a small window of time to cancel an order once placed.  Enjoy your new towels.

My favorite trick is to impulsively buy something (clothing) I already own.  I've tried to get in the habit of checking before I order or a minute or two after so I can cancel.

I do the same thing!  Not usually with clothing but with everything else.  That's why I love Amazon.  I will see someting and think -- wow -- that's great -- immediately go to order it -- only to see "You purchased that item on January 3, 2013."  Then down to the basement I go to find the fabulous -- never opened -- item I couldn't live without!

I no longer buy everything I see or want.

I checked my online order status and last year, I ordered a total of 36 items.  Of the 36 items, 6 sets were travel-size My Pillow.

WhenI feel like ordering something, I put it in my shopping cart or wish list.  I try to wait a few hours to see if I still want it later.  Very often I forget about the item altogether, or I look at it again and it's not that great after all.  The urge has passed.

So do you guys remember the other day I told you I bought that trash can?  Well, I did.  So my friend was over (she's the one who sets up all of these gadgets I buy and can't read the directions).  Well, she helped me figure out where to put the thing (in the kitchen)...duh!

Remember, I told you how for years I've always used a clothes hamper (which is very large).  I love that thing but my son-in-law always teased me about it.

Well, now in this kitchen (which has so much errrrr...'stuff' in it) has the hamper trash can, a plastic bag hanging for recycling stuff and ...ta da...the new trash can.  Well,  you should see me trying not to walk past to set the lid off (remember...it opens automatically).  I've scooched (that word is misspelled...I know it)....I've done everything but get on my hands and knees not to set it off...but it STILL goes up (the lid I mean).

I bought stainless steel because I figured I'd give it to my daughter....and (wait for it), I think I'm going to give it to her because the thing is driving me crazy!

It's stupid (and big) to send back.  I need to come up with an explanation (to her) on why I'm not keeping it...I don't lie, so I'm going to have to skirt around the truth....stay tuned.....

I was in a restaurant last week where they had one of those trash cans in the ladies room. Great idea, right? If we had room in our galley kitchen, I would have bought one. The only problem was that the lid would only open a quarter of an inch. The little red lights lit up, it made a whirring sound, but that was all. I suppose the batteries were low.
