Re: Has anyone started decorating for spring?

St Patrick's Day garden flag is out now.  Easter one will go out on Monday.  Spring one will go out on April 1st.  At that point I'll be done.

I took my winter runner off of the foyer table as well as the winter ribbon on the lantern that I keep on the floor near it.

I just got a very pretty spring ribbon to replace the winter one.  flower runner.jpegflower runner.jpeg I'm thinking of getting a pretty spring wreath for the front door....but that is the extent of my spring decorating.

@haddon9    You chose BEAUTIFUL items!  I think it's just the right amount too.💝

So far I have only put a spring wreath on my front door.

@RetRN.  That is the total extent of my decorating effort.

Re: Has anyone started decorating for spring?

After a week of warmer than normal temperatures, we're going to have winter weather again for a few days. I wanted to lighten up things in my house so I went ahead and swapped out my darker wintery tablecloth, throws, and pillows for lighter colored yellow and green items today. I also put some candy in an Easter basket. I don't have any other Spring decorations.

@cheriere Thanks so much!

I purchased the bow from a shop on Etsy (she has gorgeous themed bows!) and I made the runner in my felting class. Smiley Happy

@haddon9   The runner is beautiful!  I can't believe you made it.  You sure did an excellent job!  I love the bow too!  I sure wish I get them to turn out so nice. 💝  Maybe I'll have to check out what's on Etsy too.

Years ago, I bought a device from QVC called the Bowdabra.  It was a plastic grid with long, removable dowel rods that ran up and down each side.  Depending on how many dowels used etc, really nice bows could be created, even with multiple ribbons.  I don't recall what happened to it, but I used to make some great bows I could never replicate now.

And my real p ussy willows, ( which have lasted, a little the worse for wear, for several years) are arrayed in a green Floraline vase on my desk...

@Oznell  I was just telling a neighbor the other day, I have never seen p ussy willows growing or in anyone's home in So. Joisey.  I currently live in the boonies & looked unsuccessfully in the woods & forest for them....no luck. Smiley Sad

They grow wild in Philly which is where I am from.  Just about everybody had them in their home.  Even the bathroom.

Re: Has anyone started decorating for spring?

@cheriere Thanks so much!  I really enjoy the class. We spend three hours once a week making felted items and chatting...it's great therapy!

I know how to make bows but I'm not very good at it.  Plus this shop has a lot of pretty ribbon and I like to support other Etsy sellers  ( I used to have a shop too).

If you're interested the name of her shop is GamisGifts dot Etsy dot com. She's very quick to answer any questions, etc.  I like when Etsy sellers communicate well.  Not all do.

@haddon9   Thank you so much for providing the name.  I'd love to get a large bow for the top or side of the Easter basket I'm making.  I think I'm probably the only person in the world who's never ordered from Etsy before.  Your recommendation makes me feel a lot better about a first purchase.💝

The University has a local Co-op program that offers many classes to the public at very nominal fees. Actually it's pretty cheap. My mom and I have made baskets, painted pictures, decoupage, and various other fun arts and crafts activities.  They offer other classes on gardening, canning, cooking, quilting, knitting, cross stitch etc.  You name it, they offer it.  It's really nice getting out and socializing with other women from the area too.
