Simple Spring Decor For My Fireplace Mantel.. Thoughts on How It Came Out?

My goal was to decorate my fireplace mantel with simple Spring decor that could last throughout the summer months as well.  I tried to use the mirror as a focal point, as I've seen in many mantel displays.  I've added most of what I had on hand from my collection of pieces, including the Luminera candles, the votives, books and even the floral arrangements.  All the candles are on timers, so they come on around 7PM and give such a nice soft glow to the fireplace.

Pay no attention to the ash in the fireplace grate, as my son needs to clean it out today.

@ciao_bella I like it a lot! Not too much "stuff", there's space so the items can be seen and appreciated. Love the mirror! Perfect for spring/summer.

@ciao_bella I think it's lovely.  I find most times less is more.  I try to keep my decor simplified, sometimes I overdue a bit, but not too much.  That's according to my best critics, the kids. (LOL)

I changed over to my spring decor a couple weeks ago.  I'm happy with it and ready for springtime!

@Desertdi  Thank you!  I love used brick.  It has so much character, and if we only knew the interesting back story of its origin.

@LindaSal  Thanks!  That was my goal to keep it simplified yet interesting.  Now to get my spring wreath on the door.

I think your mantel looks lovely. Flowers and candles are a favorite of mine for decorating. I like the look of a brick wall too, adds beauty to a room.

Thank you.  Actually the mirror is the only new thing that I purchased.  I thought the black frame would coordinate nicely with the black mortar between the bricks and the black metal candle holders. .

@ciao_bella ,  so pretty and fresh against your wonderful, character-filled brick.  There's balance and rhythm.

This is what I really appreciate about spring decorating-- the lightness of touch!  The leaning books are perfect-- books are always a soulful element.

@Oznell  Thank you for your opinion, which I so respect, especially in decorating.   I'm going to add another book where  the three votives are located (on the left side), which are already sitting on one vintage book.  The added vintage book will give the 3 votives a little more height and you'll be able to see the stack of 2 vintage books better.
