The service and atmosphere would be worth most of the price to me. Having elegant, attentive service without the snootiness is a rare find nowadays...add in the scones and tea...I am in heaven! Thank you so much for this brief escape to an elegant event!

@Enufstuff ,  thanks for posting, what a great idea to use the mascarpone to amp up to the requisite rich feeling of clotted cream!  Sounds delicious.

Oh, I missed the owls at first, @just bee ,  was gawking at the sweet reindeer!  Those owls are so cute, and I should have seen them, love owls.   I have a white one that looks good at Christmas, sitting complacently in an old wood bowl, surrounded by pinecones, ornaments, berries, driftwood and a miniature corduoroy (sp?) teddy bear...
