I received a few calls from Adrianne S. Martin at the "FCC" (not!) today, telling me that my phone number was registered as perpetrating fraud but that she was going to work with me to get it cleared up . . . . . her number came up as 562-860-7627, after I blocked the number she called back on 267-529-0102 . . . I did not sstay on the phone with her and did not give her any info (she already had my husband's name and mine). I then looked her up on my phone search software and that popped up with Probable  FRAUD. Head's up!

I have received several calls from "social security"..."the u.s. treasury", etc.

The U. S. Government NEVER CALLS.  They only contact you by the USPS first class mail.

That's truly scary, I hadn't heard of that scam @We rescue cats thanks for the info. I've gotten calls claiming to be from the IRS @Desertdi

One morning I was getting ready for the day out with my elderly mom and got a phone call (landline).

I thought it might be her and unthinking, picked it up.

Of course, you all know by now...there was a pause after I said "hello" and I just knew then that it was some sort of call-center scam unit.

But since then, they call me back at random times.

I have a phone that tells me the number calling and if it's not family...I DON'T ANSWER.

For 2 weeks DH has been receiving multiple daily calls from a financial institution (not familiar) indicating it's urgent about our account.  Local number that changes, no different message.  It is at point that I don't answer any unknown caller if they leave a message, I will return - except for those seeming to be fraud.  Its a continuous battle of wits!

Ever feel like messing with these people?

"Perpetrating fraud, ah, you're on to me. My bad". Then hang up.

Or start asking if you can get in on their scam. How much can you make? What are the hours? Where do you work out of?

@We rescue cats

Thanks for the heads up ... it seems like there's a new one every week!

I've been getting calls from all different numbers about the approval of my loan application ... and they just need a few more details ...

Yeah, right.

The best thing to always do is if you don't know the number, let it go to voicemail.

My dh has been receiving spam calls. He did answer one and the person on the other end said," Can you hear me? I'm adjusting my earset." Never say "yes"!
