Re: For my decluttering Friends.

Since I purged our entire house/garage about 6 months ago now (it took about 8 months to complete), I work diligently to maintain it's current status.

I just thought I'd share an example of when I get something, I let something go...

I have one shelf dedicated to cookbooks in our kitchen. Over the past 6 months I bought 4 new cookbooks from QVC (South your Mouth - F11653, Eat What You Love Everyday - F11411, Southern Living: Country Music's Greatest Eats - F11642, and Slow Cooker Revolution - F11274).

Yesterday I dropped off 10 cookbooks I hadn't used in 10-30 years to the local Goodwill Smile

Re: For my decluttering Friends.

Susan Louise, you are very much ahead of the game! I'm in the one in one out (at the very least) phase as well.

My most recent dilemma is inheriting some things from my great aunt. She passed last year, and her girls are just now cleaning out the house. They gifted me some wonderful treasures, like homemade afghans and quilts from my grandmother, my great grand mother's wedding outfit (she married at 17 in 1905) as well as her rolling pin, a beautiful set of Baldwin brass candlesticks, and my aunt's Fenton cake stand and candle holders. Also, a table handmade by my grandfather in high school shop class, and a beautiful stained glass lamp that my great uncle made.

I will never part with such wonderful family treasures, but I am determined to remove something from the house for each piece brought in. It shouldn't be hard to choose, but I just have to buckle down and get it done.
