For those interested, I went and dug up the close-up shot of the seating area adjoining the kitchen I recently posted. A smaller shot of the kitchen is included for reference..

Well... while I can appreciate the attempt, I don't care for the mis-matched hodgepodge decor, but I do love the kitchen and sitting area.

Love ❤️ the sweet dog too.

@LoveMyBaby  Actually, I like this one, though I'd change out the rug. I'm not a fan of bold stripes (or other geometrics, as far as it goes) but do like the room, overall. I'd probably lose some of the pillows too. Many probably wouldn't, but I like the sofa fabric and that it brings a bit of green into the mix.

It looks so cluttered.  Maybe if there was some color on the walls it would all tie in together better for my taste,

@stevieb @Yeah, I agree, do love the area, I think it's the pattern on the sofa with this rug. For me, the pattern on the sofa is bugging me more than the striped area rug. Lol. Thx for posting!

My DD basically did the same thing (minus the book shelves). When she remodeled her kitchen she turned the area where the kitchen table had been into a seating area with a love seat, two chairs, end tables and coffee table. She said everyone was always in the kitchen so why not give them a place to sit.  They now eat in the dining room.

With the exception of the rug and table/seat with decor in front of the couch, I like the area!

I agree with you, @stevieb,  just take out the rug, and a pillow or two (but doggo MUST stay),  and it's ultra inviting and comfortable....

I agree about the rug removal. It doesn't compliment or match what is going on in this space at all to me.

This is lovely.....very well done. My only problem would be the rug.
