@Vivian   My sister has dogs who race up and down an open spiral staircase!  Wood.  Not even carpeted for traction!

Those are very nice architecturally,

but I would get dizzy walking up or down them.

I can appreciate it as a clean, Asisn-influenced, design marvel...but it's not for me !

Interesting for a commercial building, but not at all safe.  The steps are curved and there are no railings.  May be OK for sure footed younger folks, but not everyone is young. 

 

Although, it might be an easy care faux wood, it looks like bare wood, even varnished light wood would be a hassle to keep clean and care for.  How about we take a look after several years of use.  

 

Surprised this design was approved by the building codes in that area.

Very pretty and different. I would be hesitant on them.
