There are always so many flies at our backdoor. Does anyone know of a product or something
that will get rid of them?

Did you know that some plants repel flies naturally? Perhaps a pot of herbs by your door would help. You can read about the herbs HERE.

the best on the market is the disposable fly trap catcher. You hang them from a tree, ground post. we have no more problem. We get ours from Lowes. They run about $5.00 per trap.
you run water into the bag up to the fill line, hang, takes about 24 hours to start gathering flies. I will tell you, the stink from this mixture can be overwhelming but once the scent reaches those flies, no more problem.
We go thru 4 bags a month for our small yard.

Isaboo, we have this same problem at our back door, too! Even when the bug man comes to spray around our house, it doesn't even bother them! I read something the other day about spraying pine sol, that flies do not like the smell, I am willing to try it!

Yes, these work very well, and you will be surprised at all the flies you catch with it. As Viva said, the smell is horrid, so I has to be located somewhat away from where people walk. I had one in my yard once, and I overheard the people next door saying, "What's that bad smell?" It's worth doing in spite of the smell.
Do you have open trash cans, horses? Those can attract flies.

Luckily house flies are not a problem here as they were back in central NY. I think it has a lot to do with the neighborhood and the way we all deal with trash/garbage. Always bagged and or covered goes a long way to keeping them under control. Now if I could keep other things from dining on some of the plantings in my gardens.

NO, I do not have trash hanging around my back door, we store our trash in a garbage container supplied by the city and in trash bags at that!!!
I live in the South where it is hot and no air moving and flies are everywhere, plus I do have a dog that goes in & out!
ETA: These are not "house flies", they are outdoor flies that get in the house!

I've never heard of that before, I will give that a try. I am planning to try the "fly trap" stuff that Viva923 suggested as well.

We have flies really bad this year. I think the neighbor isn't covering his trash again. I keep telling the cat that she's falling down on her job. She should be catching the flies.

We have been inundated with ants. Small brown ones and huge black ones. Also there are these really tiny bugs that crawl and don't fly and they seem to be around our kitchen sink. The come out of nowhere. I've sprayed under the sink but am hesitant to spray anything on the kitchen counters. They are driving me up the wall. I can't find the source. Yuk.
