Do they have throw pillow covers with zippers thse days?  My sister once made a lovely latch hook pillow. She put the pillow filler in and handstitched it closed.  It still looks great.  It also still crinkles when you grab it because she didn't take the filler out of the packaging it was in!

Yes, the throw covers I purchased had zippers. Bought some from Amazon and Wayfair. If you read the descriptions, they will indicate if they come w/ zippers, buttons, etc. They also make the kind that have overlapping seams, for easy in/out insertion of the pillows.

Pillow forms are sold at Joann's.  I'd take the cover over there and try on the different sizes to find the fill you like best.  First, go to their website and get a coupon for 50% off.

I just got through doing this, use a 18x18 insert, that's what I was told when I went to the craft store. It worked perfect, and, I too had always bought them already done.

I was reading about sizing the other day.  It's recommended to go 1-2 inches larger than the pillow cover.

IKEA sells well priced pillow inserts and tons of covers - love looking there.
