Open the windows and try to find the culprit making the house not smell so well, and eliminate it.
The older I get, the less I can handle fragrances. I used to burn candles a lot, and anymore, there are few I can stand without getting a headache or bothering my sinuses.
Even in the winter, an open window does wonders, and I keep an eye on the trash for odors, or needing to steam clean carpets or upholstery to freshen the rooms.
I will simmer some cinnamon and cloves sometimes too.

What do you use? What are your go to scents, what scent do people compliment the most when they enter your home?
Would love to hear your ideas

I did not imply anything negative abt your home .
You asked for suggestions . Mine was to simply suggest as per your quote " freshen up the scent in my home " use baking soda or cleaner with baking soda so that you have a neutral scent then add whatever your heart desires .
Scents that are sprayed or diffused do settle onto fabrics , so if you add a new scent it may not smell as you anticipate because you still have old fragrance on any carpets .

Instead of spraying toxic petro-chemicals in your house just crack a couple of doors for a few minutes. I know it's cold out there (I live in WI) but it will make a world of difference!

I use Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Room Freshener Spray - lemon verbena scent.

I like to mix up and change, some of what I use is:
Homeworx Candles
Nene's Kitchen Melts
Dessa's Melts
Cuyahoga Melts
Nest Candles
Southern Elegance Candles
I just ordered a new product from Yankee, which is a diffuser that doesn't use oil, you buy the containers of scent and pop them in. I haven't received it yet, but once I do and have used it, I will do a review!

I liked and used the Wall flowers from Bath and Body Works---smell was great but if you have pets--the scents can make them sick--my cat got very sick to the point where she was in a few times to get fluids into her and had a very high fever and just was a sick girl---took a week of almost daily vet appts to get her better--then DD read about how bad these were for pets---now she didn't try to eat or lick them just the scent in the air and all that scent contains chemical wise made her sick.

Bleach. No, I don't spray it around. I just put it into the toilet and let it sit for awhile with the door open. I'm allergic to scents in general and bleach will cover up some but not all cooking odors.
