Re: Fall decorating

[ Edited ]

Usually I decorate for Fall sometime during the last 2 weeks of August. Currently I'm waiting on some VPH decor I recently ordered, so this year it will be around the 1st week of September or so.

The only decor I put up so far is a wreath for our front door.  Smiley Happy

@Bettyanne  Inside the house I wait until at least the weekend after Labor day.  I try to keep my outdoor flowers as long as possible, but once they start to look bad or leggy,  I dump them.

Our weather has turned a bit cool, which is a nice change from weeks of hot, humid weather.

Bettyanne I started today. I know I know it's still August but I got tired of the spring and summer decorations that I put out in February.  Anyway fall is my favorite season so I don"t mind seeing fall up in my house now.Haven't put up my fall wreath yet. I'll wait until 9-1 for this.  My outside plants are looking rough from the heat and spotty rain. I'll probably move my ferns and geraniums to the back yard in a week or two.

I don't really have fall decorations.  I have Halloween decorations so I wait until the beginning of October to decorate which includes putting pumpkins and mums on the front porch.  I don't put up a wreath.

@Bettyanne I would start whenever you are ready! After watching Valerie's Harvest shows, I got so excited that I started this past weekend. I switched out my fall color starry night hurricanes, brought out some of the little pumpkins and candle rings that I use as small wreaths. I still have starry night pumpkins and some other things to put up, but I have to buy batteries first. I'm trying to spread it out over a few weeks since I enjoy decorating for the seasons.

I too, am waiting for several Valerie items to arrive from her recent shows, and those will be incorporated as soon as they arrive! I also just ordered some new sage living room curtains (which I needed) and they should match nicely too.

Happy decorating! 😊

I started today as I got some batteries for my Valerie pieces.  I always decorate inside and then work on my front porch the first week of Sept.  I'm retired and now I spend a great deal of my time in my home and enjoy decorating for each season. I have moved everything up as I want the time to enjoy it and after I do the fall decorating I wait until Oct. 1st and then put up a few Halloween items. I got Valerie's starry night pumpkins last year and this year I got the set of pumpkins in bronze that you can stack or not.  I'm using the starry night pumpkins on the fireplace mantel with timers so they come on automatically.  The new bronze pumpkins are beautiful and I've decided to use them on my dining room table.  Valerie's shows are so entertaining that I love them for inspiration.
