I have a hard time finding the special detergent for darks (which can be used on any color you don't want to fade, not just darks), but there are a couple of detergent "boosters" out there that you add to your regular detergent to help prevent fading. I use the Oxi-Clean one, and it really does work! Look for a smaller, dark-colored bottle, and the words "helps prevent fading" on the label.

Cold water, gentle cycle, air dry....if I can find it, detergent for dark colors, have also heard of the white vinegar trick too.....

 

For dark clothing, add ½ cup of white vinegar into the rinse cycle. Don't worry, your clothing won't come out smelling like vinegar, it'll be washed out from the cycle.
