Recently there was a post regarding the use/non-use of the top sheet in bed-making.  To my surprise, quite a fewof us only use bottom sheets.

Well, I recently switched from a queen-size to a king-size bed at which time I only purchased one setting of sheets.  Brody, my German Shepherd bedmate got sick this past week.  So, I tucked in the top sheet while the bottom sheet was being laundered.  As planned, that worked out really well - NOT!Woman Frustrated  Since I'm very pleased with my bedding from amazon, I went on a searh.

We can buy bottom sheets only!!!  I'm just posting this in case I'm not the only one who's 'late to the party'. Just search fitted sheets; and, Nirvana!  there's  a medley of various bottom sheets to be had!Woman Very Happy

Good Luck my fellow bottom-sheeters!Woman Wink

When I was a child, my mother only bought flat sheets.  I don't know if fitted sheets were available yet.

I used to help her make the bed with flat sheets.  She showed me how to make square corners, sometimes called hospital corners.  Flat sheets can certainly be used as the bottom sheet.

@Carmie Same!  I honestly didn't think fitted sheets had been invented or something.  Wasn't till I was married that I found out there was a 'cheat sheet'.  lol

@eddyandme

A lot of retailers sell both sheet sets and individual sheets.

Some people like extra pillows and need extra cases and ... sometimes our little ones have an accident.

I like having extra pillow cases, for all sorts of reasons, including I have extra pillows on the bed.  Woman Happy

I'm a two sheet woman.  Sleeping without a top sheet would be like sleeping without a pillowcase to me.

But I usually buy my sheets separately, not in sets.  Of course in sets, you get top, fitted and two pillow cases.

It's a good thing you had a top sheet to use.  You can tuck them in tight.

Hope your Brody is better.   German Shepherds--my favorite breed.Heart

Re: FITTED SHEETS

[ Edited ]

I buy Sferra brand sheets, and purchase top or bottom only. After years of use seems one or the other wears out first,  I dislike sheet sets!!!  I have Queen bed, a Queen set sends queen size pillow cases, when I have king pillows. Totally wasteful.  I donate them or sometimes grands use them. Although they have king pillows as,well. I use top and bottom sheet, but I prefer buying separate.

L.L. Bean sells some sheets individually, both fitted and flat.

@Tinkrbl44  I agree. I always need extra cases, and Sferra king cases aren't cheap.  I usually save up rewards from a couple places, and buy pillow cases with all reward money. lol I need top sheet and bottom. We do have a cotton duvet over down comforter, but we don't wash that as often as sheets.  Then I have to put this thin old blanket thing on top for His Majesty, Mr Sushi. He old......

I only buy fitted sheets. I don't use top sheets.
